About Michael Morris

Michael Aubrey Morris is a certified Human Resource Professional. As a licensed HR Generalist, Michael has served as a HR Payroll Manager, Niche Recruiting Specialist & a Diversity and Talent Equity Consultant. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated an impeccable capacity to integrate cutting-edge approaches to relieve organizations of their daily burdens.

Michael has worked with several companies in various industries. Currently, he operates as a free-lance HR Consultant at the firm he developed in 2019, Your Talent Ambassador, where he helps his clients find great talent for key positions that demand a very specific skill set.
Michael began his career in human resources in December 2017 at Primus Builders, Inc., a leading design-build construction company. Michael served the company for about a year and a half, and while there, he held three strategic roles: Talent Community Brand Ambassador, HR Project Manager, and Niche Recruiter. From there, he launched his HR Consulting Practice securing a contract with another leading Atlanta Construction Company Fulcrum Construction.

At Fulcrum, Michael worked as a HR Project manager. He designed and managed their youth outreach event developing the hands-on learning craft training exercises, coordinating training and curriculum for all subcontractors, and managing all logistical tasks with student and the retail Target management team. 

Apart from being a distinguished and competent human resources specialist, Michael is a prolific digital marketer. He took on his first digital marketing role in 2010, working for Web.com. Web.com is a leading web technology firm offering everything from web design to lead generation to online marketing tools.  Michael left the company in and joined TheeDesign Studio (now www.theedigital.com) as a Digital Sales Manager. His role entailed leading the sales team to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets, creating strong business relationships by actively engaging with clients, work with third parties in the development of digital initiatives, and a host of other activities related to digital marketing. Michael founded Morris Marketing SEO and became the senior digital marketing sales manager. While there, he helped several companies match online marketing solutions to a range of SMB client needs. Among his latest role as the owner of talent ambassador, Michael functioned as the payroll manager, and was responsible for all-things payroll-related, recruitment, and office management processes. 

Michael received his bachelor’s degree in arts from Wesleyan University, in Middletown CT, majoring in English and literature. However, he chose to diversify his career by pursuing a Human Resources certification from HRCI, January 2019. This certification enabled him to gain comprehensive knowledge on strategic ways of fostering employee development and motivation, contract negotiation, conflict resolution, recruitment and selection, and much more.

Michael has received numerous honors and awards over the course of his career. In 2006, Wachovia Bank issued him with the Soaring Eagle Award, an honor handed to those who demonstrate outstanding performance in meeting sales goals while offering excellent customer service. Local Edge and TheeDesign named him as their number one sales manager in 2008 and 2015, respectively. Notably, Michael was recognized as TheeDesign’s Employee of the Month July 2014, a first-ever in the company’s ten-year history. He received this honor by virtue of attaining majority votes from the entire staff for excellent work performance and high-volume sales. Most recently, Michael received a Cross Keys High School Industry Partnership Award in 2019 for successfully developing a relationship with CKHS construction faculty, administration, and students.

One of Michael’s greatest skill is the ability to collaborate and build partnerships with like-minded business owners. Hence, it doesn’t come by surprise that he is a member of several strategic organizations. Since 2018, Michael has been a member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR), a non-profit organization focused on creating a national network and forum for African Americans and emerging minority HR practitioners. He is also member of SHRM Atlanta, the primer professional community for HR professionals. Moreover, Michael is part of the Raleigh SEO Meetup Group and the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
